Legacy of Jazz: Ringing & Swinging

Vibraphonist Lionel Hampton joined clarinetist’s Benny Goodman’s iconic band in 1936, spending over 4 years touring the world with the King of Swing. From the famed Carnegie Hall concert in 1938 to the expansion of the group to a sextet, the sound of the clarinet and vibraphone leading together was unparalleled. Renowned vibraphonist Christian Tamburr is joined by special guest clarinetist Gregg Gelb as they swing through some of the most iconic Hamp and Goodman songbook.
