Cary Programs and Services
Trash Collection Assistance
Need assistance with trash collection? Cary citizens who are physically unable to take their trash and recycling roll carts to the street curb may request assistance. A curbside assistance request form should be filled out by a physician and submitted. Each request is individually evaluated.
Prescription Medicine Disposal
Citizens who need to dispose of expired or unused pills should not throw them in trash cans or flush them down toilets. Unwanted medications should be disposed of at participating locations throughout the Cary area. To search for locations, visit the DEA Diversion Control Division webpage. Pill take-back events, known as "Operation Medicine Drop," are offered in conjunction with the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Days.
Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP)
SNAP allows citizens to inform Town of Cary emergency responders ahead of time about critical information they may need to help in the event of an emergency. Is there a code for a door, or a key hidden somewhere on your property? Is there important medical information dispatchers need to know when they send someone to your home? Filling out and returning the SNAP form will put this information in our emergency dispatch system, so police, fire, and medical responders will have the details of your living situation before they arrive at your residence.
