Val has experimented with most artistic mediums and enjoyed each for their unique qualities. It was after moving to North Carolina in 2019 that she was finally able to pursue art seriously and ultimately discovered the true versatility of colored pencils as they suit her photo realistic art style perfectly. She currently serves as the vice president of Clayton Visual Arts and is a member of the Raleigh/Durham Chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America. She continues to provide lasting memories through pet portraits and custom commissions, and in-between, draws any other subjects that appeal to her.
