Inspired by family experiences, Cary resident, Sally Zumbach, became an activist for the rights of the queer community when the topic for many was taboo. She served as the president of the Triangle chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) in the 1980s and 1990s and brought the subject out of the shadows. Learn more about her life and impact from her son and daughter, Mark Zumbach and Debra Zumbach Grannan, as part of PRIDE month in Cary.
