In Q3, Cary issued 221 single-family permits. The top three subdivisions permitted were Brickyard (51), Savaan (35), and Reserve at Wackena (18). Overall, permits for new single-family homes increased 11% in comparison to the same period last year.
Cary also issued 192 single-family certificates of occupancy (COs), an average of 3.2 certificates per workday. This is a 9% decrease in comparison to the COs issued during the same period last year and a 14% decrease from the average issued in FY 2020. The subdivisions issued the most COs were Savaan (31), Brickyard (28), and Channing Park (25).
