Home MenuWestern Cary Facilities Projects
Cary is committed to the long-range planning of the buildings needed to serve its citizens well while making the best use of financial resources.
Various master plans give us the vision for eventual facility needs. The Town’s 20-year capital budget identifies our plan for the construction of these facilities as they are needed.
We are currently focusing on these future needs, generally west of NC Highway 55, including buildings for a community center, public works operation and maintenance, and public safety. This ongoing study will consider the priorities and needs for each component, identify synergies between various needs and combinations of building projects that will serve the public well and make the best use of our resources, including land already owned by the Town.
The results of this evaluation will inform future capital improvement budgets as well as ongoing operation and maintenance. Look to the annual capital improvement budget and plan to see what facility construction is planned.
Two new parks in western Cary, Neighborhood Park on Carpenter Fire Station Road and Neighborhood Park on McCrimmon Parkway, are not part of this study. Construction is expected to begin on both of these parks in 2021.
