Chapel Hill Road (NC 54) Improvements

Chapel Hill Road is a regional corridor connecting Raleigh, Cary, RTP and Durham. NC 54 is a state route traveling east to west that primarily follows Chapel Hill Road. But in the heart of Cary, NC 54 routes to Maynard Road, bypassing the downtown. This change is to encourage regional traffic to travel around the downtown versus through the downtown. Both Chapel Hill Road and Maynard Road are maintained by NCDOT.
