Out of an abundance of caution, the outdoor components of Herbfest have  been canceled. The Eastern North Carolina Iris Society show inside will go ahead as planned, 1-4 p.m.

Herbfest is a perennial favorite, held rain or shine on the beautiful grounds of the Page-Walker Arts & History Center. Visitors have the opportunity to find out how to start their own herb garden while touring the Anne B. Kratzer Educational Garden, including a close-up look at the historic 1850s Page smokehouse.

In addition to touring the garden, festival-goers can stroll through booths selling a wide variety of garden-related items, including home care products, soaps and lotions, edible treats, garden products, and crafts. Plant vendors offer herbs, perennials, native plants, and vegetables. Demonstrators and informational booths include the chance to learn more about gardening, healing with herbs, crafts, cooking with herbs, and other interesting topics.

Herbfest is fun for the whole family, with a craft for kids and bake sale fundraiser. And of course, don't miss the butterfly release at 2:30 p.m. at the smokehouse!

New this year is a special flower show in the main gallery. The Eastern North Carolina Iris Society presents Live Inspired by Irises, an accredited Iris Show, 1-4 p.m. See a wide variety of modern iris hybrids in this juried show and learn all about irises and how to grow, divide, and plant them!
