All Parking Decks
Pursuant to Town of Cary Code of Ordinances Section 22-87, the following rules apply to the use of any Town of Cary owned, leased, shared, or operated Parking Deck (the “Parking Deck”):
- The Parking Deck shall be used only for the parking of motor vehicles; provided, however, bicycles may be parked and motor vehicle loading and unloading may occur in any portion(s) of the Parking Deck designated for such purpose.
- Trailers, boats, and commercial vehicles are prohibited in the Parking Deck.
- Commercial activity of any kind is prohibited in the Parking Deck.
- Repairs (other than emergency repairs) or washing of motor vehicles is prohibited in the Parking Deck.
- Parking spaces may not be used for the storage of vehicles, equipment, or materials.
- No overnight parking except in spaces so designated for that purpose.
- Public parking is permitted only in spaces that are not designated as reserved for other purposes.
- No person may park a vehicle in any space designated for handicapped use unless the proper permit and/or NCDMV handicapped placard/plate is displayed on the vehicle.
- Only motor vehicles that require charging may park in spaces designated for Electric Vehicle Charging.
- Motor vehicles may only be parked in striped parking spaces. Parking is prohibited on curbs; ingress, egress, or travel lanes; and ramps.
- Motor vehicles must always be parked within the confines of the parking space. A motor vehicle may not park its wheels on or in another space. No more than one motor vehicle may be parked in each parking space.
- Vehicles with excessive fluid leaks must be removed immediately.
- Pedestrians are to be given priority over vehicular traffic in all circumstances.
- Compliance with all posted signs, directions, and warnings is required at all times.
- The Town of Cary assumes no liability or responsibility for loss, damage, injury, or death to any person or personal property in the Parking Deck.
- In addition to these Rules, use of the Parking Deck is subject to all applicable federal, state, or local laws, regulations, and ordinances (“Laws”).
- Violation of these Parking Rules or Laws shall entitle the Town of Cary or its agents to enforce the Parking Rules or Laws, which may include, but are not limited to, revoking the parking privileges of the offending party and towing of the motor vehicle. Payment of towing and storage fees for vehicles removed from the Parking Deck due to violation of the Parking Rules or Laws shall be the responsibility of the vehicle owner/operator.
- Nothing in these Rules will be deemed to prohibit authorized vehicles of the Town of Cary or its agents from performing maintenance or other activities deemed necessary for Town operations.
