Home MenuUSA Baseball - Field #3 and #4 Artificial Turf Improvements
Project Background
Cary built the USA Baseball National Training Complex (NTC) at Thomas Brooks Park in 2007 to serve as the premiere training venue in the United States for all youth baseball and softball skill levels. From February through October, the facility also hosts elite amateur teams for Spring Training, tournaments, and professional exhibitions. Many of these teams participating in these tournaments are starting to transition from grass to artificial turf since turf fields reduce maintenance costs, create schedule flexibility, and increase annual usage.
Artificial turf fields will also create additional usage for other sport teams including softball, soccer, and lacrosse, since existing grass fields cannot uphold the amount nor variety of activities doubling the number of usable hours for each field.
Project Scope
The USA Baseball Field #3 & #4 Artificial Turf Improvement project includes replacement of the underground drainage system, outfield fencing & bullpens, soil stabilization, and artificial turf installation.
Project Cost & Schedule
The project budget total for both fields is $2.8 million. The project schedule is as follows:
Project Design - Spring through Fall 2023
Bidding & Contract Negotiations - Fall 2023
Construction - Fall 2023 through Spring 2024
