Lost & Found

Items found during the festival may be turned in at one of the information booths. To inquire about lost items after the Festival, call the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department at 919-469-4061.

Pets

Well-behaved dogs on leashes accompanied by an adult are permitted at Spring Daze. If your dog does not get along with others (dogs, children or adults) please leave them at home. Dogs are not permitted on the festival shuttles.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located at the Boathouse, near the Kiwanis Shelter, at the comfort station near ball fields 1 and 2, at the Bond Park Community Center, and at the Cary Senior Center.

Restrictions

Smoking is not permitted at the festival.

Town of Cary Ordinance 14-22: "Smoking is prohibited in all Town facilities."

No outside alcohol beverages are allowed within the festival site.

State laws and regulations require that alcoholic beverages purchased at the Festival remain on-site.

Roller skates/blades, skateboards, bicycles, etc. are not permitted in the festival area. No tossing of balls, frisbees, or other objects is allowed.

Town of Cary Ordinance 24-18 (c): "It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a bicycle, tricycle, unicycle, skateboard, or any other wheeled vehicle, roller skates or roller blades (all hereafter referred to as "wheeled vehicle") on or within the boundaries of Lazy Daze or any other town-sponsored event to which these provisions have been made to apply. For purposes of this section, the term "operate" shall mean use, putting into action, or causing to function of a wheeled vehicle by a person mounted thereon. This section shall not apply to wheelchairs, baby strollers, or baby carriages."

Weapons are not permitted at the festival.

"No person shall carry a concealed handgun in town-owned buildings, on the appurtenant premises of those buildings, or in town recreational facilities as defined by G.S. 14-415.23, which are all town athletic fields and athletic facilities...The director of public works or designee is hereby authorized and instructed to post conspicuous signage at appropriate locations on or within each recreational facility and each building and the ground and parking areas of such buildings owned, leased as lessee, operated, occupied, managed or controlled by the town, as well as any other appurtenant premises to such buildings, indicating that carrying a concealed handgun on the properties and locations described in this section is prohibited...display of handguns is prohibited on any public streets, including adjacent sidewalks, that have been closed by the chief of police or designee pursuant to Section 34-74...display of handguns is prohibited within the area and boundaries of the Lazy Daze Arts & Crafts Festival during the times listed in Section 24-18, and within the area and boundaries of any other town-sponsored event to which the provisions of Section 24-18 are made to apply by the town council."

Unauthorized drones and fireworks are prohibited on the festival grounds.

Town of Cary Ordinance 24-18 (e): "It shall be unlawful for any person to purchase, sell, deal in, transport, possess, receive, use, or cause to be used or discharged, any fireworks on or within the boundaries of Lazy Daze or any other town-sponsored event to which these provisions have been made to apply. For the purpose of this section, "fireworks" shall mean those non-exploding glow worms, smoke bombs, noisemakers, and sparklers that are described in G.S. 14-414(1)-(6).

Photography Policy

Please respect the original work of the artists. Taking photos without asking and receiving permission is prohibited. Ask before snapping a photo!

Non-sanctioned Activities

Non-sanctioned activities, including unauthorized selling or busking are prohibited on the Festival site.

The Festival reserves the right to decline admittance to anyone who violates the reasonable policies established for public safety.

Town of Cary Ordinance 24-18 (f): It shall be unlawful for any person to exhibit, display, offer, for sale or to sell any merchandise or other item, any service, food or beverage from any outside location (hereafter referred to as "outside sales") on public property, within the boundaries of Lazy Daze unless such person has been issued a permit for such outside sales by the town parks and recreation department. Any person conducting outside sales shall display the permit issued by the parks and recreation department in a conspicuous place at the location of the outside sales.

Separated Children and Parties

In the event of a separated child or party, please contact any of the festival staff or Cary police officers.

Wheelchairs

A limited number of non-motorized wheelchairs are available for loan at no cost for guests of the festival. The wheelchairs are located near the information booth at the west entrance on the Flood Plain. Wheelchair push services and personal care attendants are not available.

Weather

In the event inclement weather is forecast prior to the beginning of the festival, a decision will be made by 7 a.m. on Saturday as to whether the festival will proceed on schedule. That decision will be broadcast on local radio stations beginning at 7 a.m. If the festival is postponed, the alternate date is the Sunday immediately following the festival’s scheduled date from 1-6 p.m. If it begins raining after the festival has begun, a decision will be made at that time whether to postpone the event.
