The Spring Daze Arts & Crafts Festival offers the following services to accommodate all guests.

Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities

Parking within Bond Park: A limited amount of handicap-accessible parking is available within Bond Park on a first-come, first-served basis for those displaying active handicap placards. Handicap parking is available in three of the four parking lots: Ropes Course Lot (red lot) and Senior Center Lot (orange lot). There is no handicap parking available in the Flood Plain (blue lot). Guests must display a valid handicap placard or license plate and the person the placard or plate is registered to must be present.

Guests can use the in-park mobility shuttle to get from the parking lots to the west entrance of the festival.

Shuttles to/from Bond Park: Handicap-accessible shuttles will transport guests from Green Hope High School and Cary Town Hall to Bond Park from 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Guests will find a limited amount of handicap-accessible parking at Green Hope High School and Cary Town Hall that is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Shuttles will drop guests off at the Bond Park Community Center inside Bond Park. From there, guests requiring mobility assistance can board a mobility shuttle that will bring them directly to the west entrance of the festival in order to avoid the steep terrain that lies between the Bond Park Community Center and the west entrance.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up: Guests with mobility disabilities can be dropped off and picked up at the Bond Park Community Center in the designated areas.

Movement within the Festival: A limited number of non-motorized wheelchairs are available for loan at no cost for guests of the festival. The wheelchair loan tent is located at the west entrance on the Flood Plain. Wheelchair push services and personal care attendants are not available.

All areas of the festival are accessible by paved walkways or ramps. Due to the terrain of Bond Park, some areas of the festival are inclined at varying degrees. Guests requiring assistance finding the nearest handicap-accessible entrance to an area of the festival should ask a festival volunteer.

At this time, the festival does not have anywhere to charge motorized wheelchairs or scooters.

Entertainment Stage Viewing Areas: All entertainment stages at the festival have areas for those with mobility disabilities to view the performers. The stage in section A has a limited number of picnic tables arranged across from the stage that are available for all to use on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no reserved seating for patrons with mobility disabilities at the stage in Section A. The stage in section D has no seating associated with it. The Sertoma Stage has bench seating available for all on a first-come, first-served basis and areas to park mobility devices.

Restrooms: All restrooms within Bond Park are equipped with handicap-accessible stalls.

Services for Guests Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

American Sign Language Interpreters: Guests who are deaf or hard of hearing may request an American Sign Language interpreter for specific performances no later than Friday, March 29, 2024. Requests made after Friday, March 29, 2024, may not be honored due to scheduling. Guests can reserve an American Sign Language interpreter by emailing jenna.kostka@carync.gov. 

Entertainment Stage Viewing Areas: All entertainment stages at the festival have areas for those with hearing disabilities to view the performers. Guests may come as close to the stage as needed to hear the performances. All seating and viewing areas are first-come, first-served for all guests of the festival.

Services for Guests Who Are Blind or Have Low Vision

Large Print: Large print sections of the festival booklet (entertainment schedule, list of festival activities, listing of food and beverage vendors, and listing of artists) are available for pick-up at both information booths. The festival does not currently have a large print version of the festival map.

Entertainment Stage Viewing Areas: All entertainment stages at the festival have areas for those who are blind or low vision to view the performers. Guests may come as close to the stage as needed to view the performances. All seating and viewing areas are first-come, first-served for all guests of the festival.

Service Animals

Legal Definition: In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons with disabilities and their service dogs or miniature horses that are trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of the individual with the disability are welcome at the festival. Service animals must always remain leashed. Service animals that are threatening the health or safety of any person or animal will be removed from the festival.

Festival Shuttles: Only working service dogs or miniature horses are allowed on the festival shuttles from Green Hope High School and Cary Town Hall.

Service Animal Waste: Handlers are required to clean up after their service animals and dispose of pet waste in the appropriate receptacles.

Services for Guests with Sensory Sensitivities

Noise-Reducing Earmuffs: The festival has a limited number of noise-reducing earmuffs available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis at both information tents.
