Artspace is a non-profit visual arts center located in Downtown Raleigh. Visit Artspace for their exhibitions featuring national and community artists, more than 35 artists working in their studios, artists in residence, and for their art classes for all ages and abilities.

Activity: Make a “Soft Sculpture” out of recycled and unusual materials. Take home your creation or donate it to add to a large, otherworldly landscape community art piece which will be exhibited at Artspace soon!

Cary-Apex Youth Choir provides a welcoming community for young singers and their families and offers high quality music education and performance opportunities within the local community. 

Activity: Be Part of the Choir! Learn a quick warm-up song and sing it with us live or record a section of the song to be put into a Virtual Choir recording as a finished round. View the final group performance once it has been published online. Don’t forget your sticker for being a part of the choir! 

Cary Sister Cities Association Strives to further global understanding and relationships, with a special focus on Cary’s Five sister cities: Le Touquet (France), Hsinchu (Taiwan), County Meath (Ireland), Markham (Canada), and Bandirma (Turkey). CSC focuses on cultural exchanges, economic development, and educational exchanges. This year their Spring Daze focus is The Year of The Dragon.

Activity: Have your name written in Chinese, get a dragon tattoo, and pick up your own CSC passport to decorate! Don’t forget to enter a raffle for a dragon kite to celebrate this auspicious year with us. 

The Fine Arts League of Cary promotes the artistic growth of area artists and increases public awareness of visual art. For over 30 years, they have served lovers of the visual arts. Welcoming established and emerging artists and providing regular opportunities to exhibit, learn, and socialize with others who share artistic interests. 

Activity: Take part in mixed-media crafts including a multi-canvas mural, painting by numbers, and nature inspired works of art. Don’t forget to save the memory at one of our 2 photo booths! 

The Friends of the Page-Walker-Walker Hotel was founded as a non-profit organization to save the 1868 Walker Hotel built by the Town's founder, Frank Page. Their mission is to enrich the community by serving as guardians of the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, by advocating preservation of Cary historic sites, by archiving history and facilitating history education and by promoting the cultural arts. 

Activity: Contribute to a community project by tying a ribbon which corresponds to when you moved to or were born in Cary. Then, decorate a miniature gourd to celebrate Cary’s status as the “Gourd Capital of the World”, and learn about a unique part of Cary’s history. 

Graceful Expressions Dance Company equips pre-professional and professional dancers to be skilled artists and leaders in the community who serve through dance and bring arts opportunities to diverse and underserved populations.

Activity: Picture yourself on the stage! Decorate silhouettes of dancers with markers, scrap fabric, ribbons, sequins, etc. Take home a ribbon wand and learn dance positions with us! 

The Cary Historic Preservation Commission works to preserve the historical, cultural, and architectural heritage of the Town for future generations. Their work is to identify and recommend Cary Historic Landmarks to Town Council for its review and approval and to review applications and hold quasi-judicial public hearings for proposed alterations to or demolition of Cary’s designated Local Historic Landmarks. 

Activity: In partnership with Friends of the Page Walker.  

Hum Sub is dedicated to sharing the social and cultural traditions of India with the residents of the Triangle area and beyond. They do this by promoting, supporting, and organizing family-oriented cultural events which are geared towards inclusivity and diversity awareness while helping to build a stronger foundation for the youth. 

Activity: Decorate your own Kolam, traditional Indian patterns typically placed at the threshold of a home or business as a symbol of auspiciousness.  Select your Kolam and make it your own using chalk and colored pencils.

Nepal Center of North Carolina (NCNC) is a center for Nepali communities to blend and foster relationships with other communities in North Carolina while maintaining Nepali culture and identity. 

Activity: Learn how to play a Madal, a traditional Nepali instrument. After your musical instruction, color the mountains of Nepal, including the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest! 

Founded in 1995, the Raleigh Academy of Chinese Language (RACL) is a nonprofit, non-political, 501(c)(3) educational institution. They promote Chinese language, teach Chinese and Oriental history and culture, and enhance the understanding and friendship among various backgrounds of people in our community in the Triangle area of North Carolina.

Activity: Learn how to draw Traditional Chinese Calligraphy! Using traditional paints and brush methods, practice your calligraphy and learn about various aspects of Chinese culture.

The Food Ark is a student led-and-run 501c3 nonprofit founded in the summer of 2014, and is driven by the need to eliminate food insecurity. Their aim is to educate communities so that students and families may engage themselves with the Earth and move society's "sustainable future" towards the present. The Food Ark believes that the success of our youth starts from being nutritionally fed. 

Activity: Create your own flower bouquet! Bend pipe cleaners into daisies, roses, lavender, or tulips and create a one-of-a-kind bouquet that will last forever wrapped in paper and a ribbon. 

The Governor Morehead Foundation serves visually impaired students across the state, including Wake County. They believe that students at this residential school should have the same opportunities and experiences as students in their local schools would have. They hope to foster the enlightenment of Visually Impaired students grades K-12.  

Activity: Braille your Bookmark! Allow us to braille your name onto a bookmark and make it your own by decorating it using markers. Don’t forget the Earth Day theme! 

The Triangle Wind Ensemble is an adult wind ensemble based in North Carolina's Triangle region. Since 1999, many of the area's most talented wind and percussion players have joined together weekly to practice and perform an exciting range of music for audiences in both formal and informal settings. TWE aims to build community through music and to enrich the cultural lives of musicians and audience members. 
 
Activity: Join the Triangle Wind Ensemble for a mini music class! Participants will learn a section from a piece in the May 2024 concert - An American Celebration: The Music of John Williams using a mini-instrument.

Triangle Youth Music has grown to a multi-level youth music education organization sponsoring five orchestras, four bands, several smaller ensembles, and an after-school beginner violin program. TYM serves over five hundred musicians and seeks to provide both beginning ensemble training in supportive non-competitive environments, as well as top-level groups that inspire serious young musicians selected through a rigorous audition process.

Activity: Learn how to play the violin! Allow a student intern to teach you how to hold the violin on your shoulder, grip the bow, and play across the strings. Earn a giveaway item for completing your lesson!
