Each piece is made from raw black annealed wire from scratch by hand ranging in widths from 0.5mm to 2mm. Wire is heated up by friction with cloth in order to shape it in a desired shape. Other components such as glass beads are incorporated in some pieces. Once finished every piece is treated with antirust product to prevent patina.

Watercolor paintings are painted on 140lb Strathmore paper with Winsor & Newton paints. I start with a high-light on a painting & pull my paint away. Once dry, I expand out and again pull paint away to layer and blend in a wet on wet process. My alcohol ink paintings are on yupo paper or ceramic tiles. Rubbing alcohol & brushes move the inks like my watercolors & can remove the paint to expose the surface below. The paint and water/alcohol interaction determines how the painting evolves.

My painting technique is more aligned with direct painting than anything else, utilizing a growing variety of tools to reproduce interesting effects.

I create feel good art with a message. The majority of my designs are painted or crafted digitally and all art pieces incorporate and begin with the message. Sometimes I use funny ideas, some romantic or some poetic. Into each design a famous quote or my own personal writings are added. Pieces are produced on all different mediums from art prints, canvas, wood prints, stationery and more after. I do paint some things originally by hand before digitizing them as well and sell original art too.

I have designed over 20 varieties of fabric flowers that mimic the appearance of fresh flowers. My work includes single flowers, artistic vase arrangements, Ikebana designs with unique bases, and wearable items (headbands, pins). Silk-like polyester fabric is cut, folded, and handsewn into flower petals. Flexible stems have galvanized steel wire interiors, thickened with recycled paper. Connections among leaves, petals, stamens, and stems are handsewn, creating long-lasting and durable designs.

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind artwork through its unique textures and impressions on the clay. I hand-paint all ceramics with stains, underglazes, slips and washes.

All of our candles are hand poured and made in small batches. Our candles are made out of 100% natural soy wax, natural essential oils, and an untreated wooden wick. The wood wick not only helps the candle to burn slower, but it creates a relaxing crackling sound like a fire place. Our main objective is to provide healthy candles at an affordable price so that families will not have to worry about breathing in harmful chemicals from other types of candles.
Morganton, NC
My designs are created by myself in my home studio in Morganton, NC. I locate and rescue forgotten watches, carefully disassemble and then bring the pieces back together creating clever designs that lend themselves to the uniqueness of the watch parts. Most of the designs are outlined with aluminum wire that is glued onto felt. The watch parts are then placed liked a puzzle into the design and then glued into place. The finished design is titled, matted, framed under glass and ready to hang.

I create hammered aluminum jewelry with stained glass and semiprecious stones which is lightweight and tarnish-free. Inspired by nature, many of my pieces feature botanical elements or whimsical sea creatures. Each piece begins with a simple strand of aluminum wire which is shaped and hammered to produce a strong finished piece. The process of hammering also allows me to give the piece a little extra dimension through variations in the width of the wire due to the force of the hammering.

I am maker of handcrafted handbags, purses, totes & accessories. There are three elements that I focus on when making my products. I want them to be functional, lightweight & eye catching. I add pockets to my bags, which is a feature that is often lacking in commercially made bags. I use bag patterns that distribute the weight of the items placed inside them & use durable but lightweight materials. I source all my fabric from independent quilt shops and new fabric being sold off by other sewists.

I make vibrant handmade journals. My day job is repairing books at the Libraries at NC State. My background in book repair informs my desire for books to work properly. I turn fabric into book cloth to satisfy my love of modern, vibrant colors and patterns - things not present in most traditional book cloths. My materials are acid free, and my bindings feature pages that lie flat when opened. The results are durably bound journals with the soft feel of cotton fabric in uniquely vibrant patterns.

Kettu Woodworks is based in Wake Forest, NC. All products are hand made, using wood obtained from local lumber yards and milled in my shop, finished with mineral oil, food safe epoxy, or my proprietary wood wax. My pieces are inspired by my experiences and those around me; my eldest daughter often serves as both muse and quality tester. My favorite part of the creative process is seeing the wood reveal its character as I mill it. Each piece comes to life through unique grain color and pattern.

Grainy Days Woodworking

I really appreciate the grain patterns in the different types of wood (hence "Grainy Days"). I strive to chose varieties that compliment each other when using multiple woods in one project. I love gluing the different woods together to make various shapes and patterns. If it's a cutting board, then that's pretty much it. If it's a box top, then I have to choose the wood that matches and the type of joinery to put it together. With so many types of ways to join wood it never gets boring!
