We explore the NC inner and outer banks to salvage unique driftwood and century-old cypress from structures that have been weathered by elements. All the wood has a gorgeous patina only nature can create. We combine our weathered wood with various mouldings to create home decor in various shapes and sizes. Each piece of wood and moulding is selected to match the style of the decor, then the shape is hand-drawn. The pieces are painted, cut, and sanded meticulously by hand.

I make works of art and useful items from reclaimed wood. For example I make a wreath of leaves from 20 types of wood from around the world, many with historic significance. One piece comes from a cabin originally built by George Washington in 1747. My other items include American flags made from NC tobacco sticks over 100 years old. I also make serving trays, Christmas trees and many more. All items come with a description and history of the wood.

Representational oil paintings on canvas or board display enhanced colors and a fresh perspective of mostly nature-based subjects. Creatively cropped compositions produce original art that is also affordable. My painting technique is more aligned with direct painting than anything else, utilizing a growing variety of tools to reproduce interesting effects.
Wreaths, Bowls, and Such

I turn wood trees into wooden bowls and such. I place a piece of wood on a nova dvr 16 inch lathe between centers then turn the lathe on at 500 rpm and if it does not shake the lathe I then take a round nose scraper and smooth the outside of the piece of wood and it begins to take on a shape that it wants to become.Then turn the wood around and place it into a chuck then take a bowl gouge and start to hollow out the inside to a rough stage. Then start drying the bowl in microwave then when dry

Trained as both an architect and a metalsmith, I combine these two passions to create modern jewelry in steel. Each design is original, laser cut and then hand finished and hand cast with epoxy resin, or 18 karat gold plated. The forms are both architecturally based and drawn from nature.

Woven items are created on Rigid Heddle or floor loom. Applying photo sensitive dye to fabric, layering it with opaque objects and exposing to sun yields sun painted fabric/scarves. Eco printing uses a chemical reaction to encourage the tannin in leaves to imprint on silk after simmering in a water bath. Applying soapy water and friction to wool fibers forces them to adhere (felt) to themselves or other fabric. Shibori dying creates patterns through folding, tying, binding and ice dying.

@FeltedCreations.GSO
I create art and sculptures out of wool by needle felting. The wool is felted and shaped by stabbing the wool with special felting needles which have tiny barbs at the end causing the fibers to tangle and felt. I form everything from natural core wool and then add detail with dyed wools, there are no styrofoam bases in my work. I also have wet felted art (water and soap are added to wool then agitated with hands to create felted pieces) that have decorative needle felting designs on them.

I create one of a kind soft sculptured coiled fabric bowls by applying different batik fabrics to cotton clothesline and they coiling the bowls using a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine. I use many different batik fabrics in many colors to produce beautiful bowls. I also make scalloped bowls by applying fabric to Temptex and I cut out some of the fabric and put it back together using a satin stitch on the sewing machine to make scallop shape.

All of our candles are hand poured and made in small batches. Our candles are made out of 100% natural soy wax, natural essential oils, and an untreated wooden wick. The wood wick not only helps the candle to burn slower, but it creates a relaxing crackling sound like a fire place. Our main objective is to provide healthy candles at an affordable price so that families will not have to worry about breathing in harmful chemicals from other types of candles.
Morganton, NC
My designs are created by myself in my home studio in Morganton, NC. I locate and rescue forgotten watches, carefully disassemble and then bring the pieces back together creating clever designs that lend themselves to the uniqueness of the watch parts. Most of the designs are outlined with aluminum wire that is glued onto felt. The watch parts are then placed liked a puzzle into the design and then glued into place. The finished design is titled, matted, framed under glass and ready to hang.

I use a variety of materials in my jewelry, including, but not limited to, gemstones, glass, ceramics, or metals, but primarily precious metal clay. The construction involves the design, molding, and texturing of the clay into the desired shape. After the clay has dried, it can be sanded or carved further before it is fired in a kiln. Once fired, it is then buffed, tumbled, and polished with multiple grits of sandpaper. A patina is usually applied to bring out the texture.

If you would have asked me to paint a stick figure two years ago, I would have told you, "I can't paint, or draw, or do anything artistic. "Just not me." Due to an injury to my wrist, I was encouraged to start painting with this cool medium called Alcohol Ink. And here I am pursuing a new dream of creativity and originality with Ink. In 2019 I recieved my first award - 1st Place- 2D Artist - in our local fine arts fair. Also accepted by the #1 Fine art Fair at St. James Court in Louisville, KY.

I create feel good art with a message. The majority of my designs are painted or crafted digitally and all art pieces incorporate and begin with the message. Sometimes I use funny ideas, some romantic or some poetic. Into each design a famous quote or my own personal writings are added. Pieces are produced on all different mediums from art prints, canvas, wood prints, stationery and more after. I do paint some things originally by hand before digitizing them as well and sell original art too.

I make vibrant handmade journals. My day job is repairing books at the Libraries at NC State. My background in book repair informs my desire for books to work properly. I turn fabric into book cloth to satisfy my love of modern, vibrant colors and patterns - things not present in most traditional book cloths. My materials are acid free, and my bindings feature pages that lie flat when opened. The results are durably bound journals with the soft feel of cotton fabric in uniquely vibrant patterns.
