RapidSOS
What is RapidSOS?
RapidSOS is an emergency response data platform that uses GPS location to help pinpoint a more accurate location of the caller. This allows emergency response centers to help deliver better and faster help to people in need. RapidSOS is also partnered with the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, and Direct Relief in an effort to get First Responders critical health information in an emergency.
First Responders receive critical data when you call from your mobile device such as:
- Your GPS location
- Real time health information
- Crash Data
When you make a call or text to 911 from your cell phone RapidSOS is able to pinpoint a caller's location within 3 meters and up to 15 minutes after a call has been disconnected.
How does RapidSOS have your medical information?
Residents can register for free! Create your Emergency Health Profile by visiting emergencyprofile.org and entering pertinent medical and profile information.
- Name, DOB, and address
- Pre-existing conditions
- Allergies
- Medical Notes
- Emergency contacts
With your participation in the RapidSOS program, 911 centers all over the country are now able to assist in quicker response times and more accurate medical information for our First Responders.

Introducing Prepared Live
Prepared Live is a benefit-added, cloud-based software that allows a public safety communication center to more efficiently deploy resources in response to calls for service. In conjunction with the online RapidSOS locator app, Prepared Live enables Emergency Communications Officers (ECOs) to initiate live stream video with on-scene callers, allowing them to gain valuable information about the call.
Additionally, ECOs can connect responders’ mobile computers in the live stream, thus providing them with additional details to identify the location of calls for service, ensure the safety of responding units, and allow fire crews to “size up” a scene before they arrive. This functionality can help ECOs and responders alike to make informed decisions regarding the level of response and the need for additional units to respond to the incident.
While all responders rely on the support of citizens as we serve our communities, we continue to seek new tools and technologies to combine with existing best practices to serve our citizens with professionalism and compassion.
