The Town of Cary is dedicated to preserving and protecting our finite natural resources. In 1996, the Town Council established a Water Conservation and Demand Management Policy. To achieve the goals of this policy, the Town Council has passed ordinances as referred to in the questions below.
- Is it my day to water according to the Town of Cary's year round Alternate-Day Watering Ordinance?
- Does my automatic irrigation system comply with the Rain Sensor Ordinance?
- Are any of my irrigation heads or sprinklers watering the driveway or street in violation of the Water Waste Ordinance?
- Has my irrigation system received the required plumbing permits?
In the event that the Town Manager declares a water shortage, the Water Shortage Ordinance will go into effect.
