The Town of Cary is committed to providing our customers with safe, high-quality drinking water. In our effort to do this, the Town Council adopted a Cross Connection Ordinance to ensure the protection of our community’s water system. The Ordinance requires all water system customers to have an approved backflow prevention assembly installed. All backflow prevention assemblies are also required to be tested annually. Backflow prevention assemblies are required by the federal Environmental Protection Agency and the State of North Carolina to safeguard water systems.
Residential Backflow Prevention Assembly Testing Program
The Town of Cary conducts an annual program that coordinates and manages all residential irrigation backflow assembly testing throughout Cary and Morrisville. Annual testing of these devices is required.
