The Town of Cary's bulk reclaimed water program, operating under state permits, makes non-potable water available at no charge to approved customers receiving a minimum amount of 250 gallons.
The bulk reclaimed water program lessens the amount of treated wastewater discharged into creeks while reducing the amount of drinking water that is used for irrigation, cooling water and other non-potable uses. The water has been disinfected with ultra-violet light and liquid hypochlorite. While clean and safe for many uses, the law requires precautions for human contact including training for bulk use.
Getting the Water
Customers that have completed the required training and received permits may obtain bulk reclaimed water from the North Cary, South Cary or Western Wake Regional water reclamation facilities.
Training sessions are held at the North Cary Water Reclamation Facility by appointment only and last approximately one hour. To schedule a training session contact:
